COLORFULL PETER

The Dutch painter Peter Thomasse, born in 1928 in the vicinity of the bustling city of Rotterdam,  (Vlaardingen) studied electro-technics and the plastic arts. Graduated from the Art Academy. In later life he took various courses and developed his talents.  After his training began his professionalism at Shell in the advertising department where he created beautiful design.  Later moved Peter Thomasse and his family to Eindhoven where he was responsible for DAF Trucks for advertising and design of the DAF stands at international fairs. Remarkably, refreshing and typically was he seated down design for among others also the Dakar rally truck DAF with two Twin cabins. Also his art exhibited at the World Exhibition EXPOin Seville commissioned by Philips where he had also designed a book for his art in it. A career with many highlights!

The artworks of Peter Thomasse are very unique. The artistic compositions are designed and built from electronics  after which he gave with brushwork color. His work are large in size and very colorful. Each unique in its kind. One recognizes his work right out of hundreds by its own authenticity that characterizes his work. The paintings consist of oil and components from the Electronics world. He called them ”fossils of his time”. Peter was ahead of its time with its 3D art objects!

Peter Thomasse called his style a representation of the future ”transformativisme”. He introduced the” transformativisme” a characteristic style and his origin and final destination of the man at the center of his paintings. He tried his paintings to depict the evolution of man and technology, from now to 50000 years into the future. Using next paint as a visual material of the latest electronics components, he thereby also puts the date stuck in his artwork.

His ideas and inspiration were based on Alvin Toffler in Future Shock and the Third Wave. The transformation of human society, from agriculture to the industrial revolution and the comprehensive information of mankind. Thomasse’ quaint expressions projects the function of a human individual traveling on the globe. With his fascination for the physical cosmos universe.

He has exhibited his art a numerous locations internationally. So are the paintings in 1992 in Sevilla (Spain) at the world Expo  exhibition showcassed. And he exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions : Fair Utrecht ”Erolife fair 1993”, International fair (Utrecht), Evoluon  (Eindhoven), Food & Facility fair (Apeldoorn), Gallery Bremmer (Tilburg), Sportfondsenbad (Eindhoven). 

Peter Thomasse had drawing and design in his DNA and this has therefore all his life typically drawn. On January 8, 2016 he started his great journey in the universe, and passed into the light. There was no  paint anymore to color his life, his painttube of life was empty. He had accomplished his life’s work. Peter Thomasse was a shining cheerful and colorful artist who has left a beautiful signature after a very creative fulfilled life. His inspiring creations colorful paintings are admired by many people every day. Peter Thomasse lives on in his art!
